The Department of Philosophy offers a wide range of interesting and challenging courses, designed for Philosophy majors and minors, general education students, and students majoring in the many other disciplines that connect naturally with Philosophy.
For students majoring in Philosophy, our program provides preparation for graduate work, or for employment in any field that requires analytical training, cogent reasoning, and clear self-expression. Students from other fields who are interested in Philosophy should note that some of our courses are cross-listed with Africana Studies, English, Theatre, and Women's and Gender Studies.
Please note that, as of the start of Fall semester 2013, PHL 300 - Philosophical Reasoning, and PHL 499 - Philosophy Capstone will no longer be offered during Winter semester. If you need either of these courses they must be taken in the Fall semester.
The Philosophy of Autism, edited by Dr. Jami L. Anderson and Dr. Simon Cushing, is now available, and was published by Rowman & Littlefield in October of 2012.
