Title of Presentation: International Civic Engagement: Partnering with UNICEF-Guyana to Protect the Rights of Women and Children

Brief Summary: In 2007, with the help of UNICEF-Guyana the Linden Legal Aid Center was established in the bauxite mining town of Linden, Guyana - South America primarily to provide access to justice for vulnerable women and children victimized by domestic and sexual violence. Two years later, UM-Flint students developed a website for the Center and launched the online educational journal Legalines.
