Benefits of Participating

The benefits of MURF are far reaching. From an institutional perspective, the event helps in demonstrating to our state representatives some of the high quality work being conducted all through Michigan. As the state is making shifts from an industrial-based economy to a knowledge-based economy, showcasing faculty/student research efforts is invaluable.

From the students' end, participating in MURF allows an opportunity to meet and interact with elected state representatives while also networking with students from other campuses. Students will also receive free continental breakfast and lunch, certificates of participation, and complimentary copies of the annual MURF journal, a collection of the research abstracts presented at the event.
