Major: Education and Political Science
Nkemdilim is currently working on a project measuring the relationship between school, financial, social and political resources and student performance outcomes.

How did you get involved in research?
I got involved with this research project by taking a political science class; American National Government and Politics taught by Professor Dyson. She asked me after the class was over if I was interested in working on her project. I was.

How has participating in research impacted your education?
This project has helped me analyze every statistical data provided by the media on education and other topics. I have a more inquisitive mind in the way I approach data that is provided in my classes.

What has been the most satisfying aspect of your research experience?
I am very satisfied with the fact that I get to work with a great professor (Prof. Dyson), and that I have been given an opportunity to get experience that will be very beneficial in my future in the medical field . I have learned how to retrieve, enter and analyze data.

What are your future plans? How has participating in research helped you in preparing for those future plans?
I plan to pursue a career in medicine and/or in education. The skills I have acquired from my research project will be crucial in accomplishing that.

What advice would you give to students interested in being involved in research?

My advice to students would be that is never too late to do research, but the early the better.
