Qingcai Liu Major: Business Administration and Management Qingcai worked on an engineering project designed for first year student research experiences.

How did you get involved in research?
I was interested in learning more about engineering science, so I contacted my professor, who happened to have a UROP project available. I started working on his project shortly after that.

How has participating in research impacted your education?
I was able to gain more knowledge and skills regarding engineering. Also, I learned more about computers.

What has been the most satisfying aspect of your research experience?
So far, the most satisfying part for me is the survey research part.

What are your future plans? How has participating in research helped you in preparing for those future plans?
I plan to graduate my school after 4 years. Research experience is very important for me. I will know how to work and study actively. It fosters my ability to manage time and gives me the ability to work in teams.

What advice would you give to students interested in being involved in research?
Students need have motivation to work. Talk your professor as often as you can. You will learn a lot of knowledge from them. That is a very important part.
