Project Description: The Handwritten Computer Authentication project is directed at exploring the feasibility of using users' handwritten signature for accessing computers and files rather than having to recall passwords.  Passwords are a nuisance and users often write them down which makes them ineffective at security.  If a user could simply sign in each time and the computer reliably recognize their signature without falsely recognizing other signatures it would provide a very simple and intuitive authentication system.

Student Tasks & Responsibilities:  Student will be working with test subjects to gather handwritten signatures.  The test subjects will sign their name numerous times and we will record all of these and then train the system to recognize the people when they try to sign in.  The student will work with the test subjects, organize the collected data and possibly help with other data analysis tasks.

Minimum Student Qualifications:  Programming skills, computer literacy, and being friendly and courteous to test subjects.
