Project Description: The primary objective of this project is to investigate alternate energy devices and systems such as wind, solar, etc.    Develop computer models to simulate flow and stress using computational fluid dynamics and stress analysis softwares.

Student Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  1. Conduct experiments using solar and wind energy trainers that are available in mechanical engineering laboratories.
  2. Literature search to understand the latest technological devices and systems used in alternate energy
  3. Become proficient with FLUENT computational fluid dynamics analysis software

 

Minimum Student Qualifications:  Student must be engineering or mechanical engineering major who took at least one engineering class.  Must be available to work as required. Must be responsible, enthusiastic about research and willing to spend time investigating and solving problems.
