Project Description: In March 2011, a the Community Foundation of Greater Flint awarded a grant to City of Grand Blanc, Michigan. The purpose of this funding is to conduct a Historic Resource Survey. Under the guidelines of PA 169, the State Historic Preservation Office has established a very detailed multiple step process for creating historic resource surveys in Michigan. This project will follow those steps and will offer student research opportunities in the following areas: conducting fieldwork to identify historic structures and landscapes in the City of Grand Blanc; researching the history of those structures; creating an inventory of historic structures and landscapes; creating maps with inventory information historic structures and landscapes.
