Welcome to the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program!

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) is designed to support collaborations between UM-Flint undergraduate students and faculty researchers. UROP allows students to earn paid, hands-on research experiences working along faculty on cutting-edge projects, while also providing faculty the opportunity to mentor enthusiastic students.

Because of the diverse nature of the research conducted at UM-Flint, undergraduate students at any level and from any academic discipline can participate in UROP. Join UROP today!

UROP Highlights

Since 2005, student participation in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) has increased over 1400 percent.
Over the same period of time, faculty participation in UROP has gone up over 550 percent.
Since its inception, UROP has awarded over $150,000 in student awards.
UROP has increased the number of stipends awarded from six in 2004-2005 to 144 in 2011-2012.
