Based on available funding, UROP stipends are awarded each semester. In order for an active UROP project to qualify for an extension each semester, the following items must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the new semester:

(1) A project extension form from the faculty project sponsor

(2) A one-page (3-4 paragraph) typed report from each student assistant working on the project.  The students' narrative report should include all of the following:

  • A brief summary of the project and (if applicable) results
  • A summary of the work the student performed during the semester
  • A discussion of any new skills, knowledge, awareness, or insight gained from participating in the project
  • A discussion of how the project contributed to the students' academic objectives
  • A reflective statement on your UROP experience
  • Details about your future involvement in the project

Once these items have been received and approved, an extension for the next semester will be granted (again, based on available funding).
