Project Title: Mating Context and Memory

Faculty Sponsor: Terrence Horgan

Department: Psychology

Project Description: We are examining whether men's mating orientation (seeking short-term versus long-term relationships) affects their immediate memory for the physical features (e.g., eye color) and statements (e.g., her hometown) of a female target.  In a lab-based experiment, male participants will be primed to think about either a short-term or long-term relationship with a female target.  Participants will then view that target on videotape. Afterwards, their memory for the target's physical features and verbal statements will be assessed.

Student Tasks & Responsibilities:  Students will collect data and enter and analyze that data using SPSS.

Minimum Qualifications: None listed.
