Project Title: Fatigue Behavior of Carbon Steels

Project Description: Fatigue behavior of materials is a measure of how materials response to fluctuating stresses. This investigation will be carried out in engineering materials testing laboratory using High-Speed Rotating Beam Fatigue Testing Machine. In this study, the effect of stress amplitude and frequency on the fatigue performance of carbon steels will be investigated, and the result will not only be presented in a conference but will also be published in a journal.
Student Tasks & Responsibilities: The student involved will run experiment in order to determine the effect of stress amplitude and frequency on the fatigue performance of carbon steels. The student will first, do the literature survey and thereafter with my guidance design the experiment based on our available facilities in materials testing laboratory. The student will also present the result in student research conference after the completion of the project.
Minimum Qualifications: The student must have completed EGR 260, 280 and 281
