Funding for Faculty Research
In this workshop, Dr. Terry Van Allen will provide an overview of funding opportunities (internal and external) and support available for faculty at UM-Flint. The objective of this session is to assist faculty with matching funding sources to their research and creative activity agendas. This is not a grant writing workshop.

Introduction to SPSS
A multi-session introduction to this powerful software to help you with your statistical analysis. The session will be facilitated by Colin Lewis-Beck, Stasticial Consultant. This series is being offered over a five-week period. Participation in all five sessions is recommended.
Grant Writing
This is an introductory workshop for faculty, staff and students interested in writing grants. Christine Black, Assistant Director for Research Services in the University of Michigan Medical School will facilitate the session and provide information on securing funding from federal and state agencies, and foundations.

SRA Webinars
A series of webinars are being offered by the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA). These webinars provide a full and comprehensive background and discussion of the issues and challenges of administering a research enterprise within the context of a university setting. Included in this series are (1) Research Ethics, (2) Hazardous Materials, (3) Human Subjects, and (4) Animal Care

Introduction to Qualtrics
This two-hour session will introduce participants to Qualtrics; a specialized tool used for online survey research. The workshop will cover the basic functions of creating/editing a survey, distributing the survey, and analyzing the results. This session will be facilitated by Andre Louis.

IRB Training
This workshop will introduce participants to various aspects of the Flint Institutional Review Board (IRB) including the review and approval process. These sessions will be facilitated by Mary Mandeville from UM-Flint's IRB Staff.

ABC's of Research (for students)
This workshop will provide students with an introduction to research. In this workshop, Maria Schell will share very basic steps in research design, getting started, identifying interests, and many other things. Participation in all three sections is recommended.
