In addition to the traditional law enforcement services, DPS is dedicated to providing a wide variety of community services. Our Community Engagement Programs are designed to build and maintain partnerships, trust, respect, create a dialogue with our community, provide educational resources and programs, and assist our community in reducing the opportunity for crime.

Stop the Silence!! 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament (Click on link for information)
Saturday, June 29 & Sunday, June 30
What: Free 3--on--3 basketball tournament Who: Youth, ages 10--‐15 from the Greater Flint area (100 teams)
When: June 29 & 30, 2013. Registration starts at 7:00 am on Saturday, June 29
Where: Flint Downtown Development Authority (DDA) parking lot (next to the Mott Foundation)
Why: To have an opportunity to connect with local law enforcement groups from the Flint area
How: First come, first serve. To register, you must:
1. Find a team of 3--4 players and assign a team Captain.
2. Have each player fill out a registration form that is signed by his or her parent. Be sure that every section on the form is completed.
ALL players must have PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGN FORM
Game--‐time information:
Each player must provide age verification on the day of the event.
Each player is required to sign a pledge to“Stop the Silence" upon registration at the event.
