June 18 – June 24, 2005

06/20/05 A staff member in French Hall received an obscene phone call. The call was similar in nature to another one received by a staff member in the University Center . DPS is currently investigating said complaints.

06/20/05 A merchant in the University Pavilion reported a subject that repeatedly had been coming into the University Pavilion to beg. A Safety officer caught the subject and he was trespassed from University property.

06/20/05 An unknown person(s) discharged the contents of a pressurized water fire extinguisher over the walls and floor in French hall. The emptied fire extinguisher ended up in a classroom. Obscenities were written in chalk on the chalk board. This investigation continues.

06/20/05 A staff member reported a subject urinating next to the entrance of the Theater. Public safety contacted the subject, advised him on the trespass laws, and escorted him from the property.

06/20/05 Hit and run accident damage was reported to a car parked in Lot G. This investigation continues.

06/21/05 Public Safety assisted Flint Police in chasing down two women that ran from a stolen car they left abandoned on Harrison Street . The women were apprehended in the University Pavilion with the assistance of DPS.

06/21/05 Public Safety officers arrested two juveniles that stole a cell phone from a student as she worked in the Library. The cell phone was recovered and returned to her. Larceny from a person charges were filed with the Genesee County Prosecutor's office.

06/21/05 A father of a prospective University student passed a counterfeit bill at the UCEN info desk. He was confronted and was found to be in possession of a second counterfeit twenty dollar bill. This investigation continues.

06/22/05 A panhandler was contacted while begging in the University Pavilion. He was escorted and trespassed from entering the building. Criminal charges are being sought.

06/23/05 A spare tire was reported stolen from a car while parked near the Library. No suspects at this time.

06/24/05 A panhandler was contacted after a complaint was called in that she was begging in the William S. White bldg. At the time she was contacted she was in possession of silver serving tongs. She confessed she had just stolen them from a caterer that was catering an event in the building. A larceny warrant for her arrest was obtained.
