Crime Incidents
October 31st – November 4th , 2005
10/14/05 A Mott College student walking near the Univeristy of Michigan – Flint campus was robbed of his wallet by two unknown males, they pushed him up against a wall, removed victim’s wallet and fled. The incident happened off university property and therefore the case was referred to Flint Police for investigation.
10/30/05 Public Safety assisted a Sheriff Deputy with a prisoner who was attempting to escape by kicking out a patrol car’s back window (while handcuffed). Subject was subdued and transported to jail.
10/31/05 Unknown persons attempted to steal a DVD/VCR combo unit from a French Hall classroom. Latent prints were recovered from the crime scene and are being analyzed, investigation continuing.
10/31/05 A student Safety officer monitoring the White building parking lots observed a male, begging students for money. The subject was detained and identified. A computer check was run and he was wanted on a statewide pick up probation violation warrant. Subject was transported to the Genesee County Jail.
11/01/05 A male subject wanted for an City of Flint murder investigation and who had been previously trespassed by Public Safety was found loitering in the Library, detained by Public Safety and turned over to Flint Police. The subject subsequently confessed to the murder and arraigned by Genesee County Prosecutors.
11/01/05 Hit and run property damage was reported to a car parked in the Mill Street parking ramp, investigation continuing.
11/03/05 Two males, were seen casing cars in the parking lot near the White building, they were detained by public safety. After a preliminary computer check, one was found to be on probation and his probation officer was notified, he was subsequently arrested and conveyed to Genesee County Jail. The second male was trespassed and released.
11/03/05 An inappropriate word was scratched into the paint of a car parked in the Mill st parking ramp, investigation continuing.
11/04/05 Public Safety assisted Flint PD with an OUIL arrest of a driver involved in an accident near campus.
11/04/05 A car parked near the Harrison Parking ramp was broken into, a car stereo and cell phone was removed from the car, investigation continuing.
