March 27 – April 2, 2004
03/27/04 Saturday A subject seen looking into the windows of the University Pavilion when the building was closed and acting suspicious was questioned. It appeared as if the subject was having mental health issues. He was transported to Hurley Hospital for evaluation.
03/29/04 Monday A subject was escorted from the Recreation Center after he was caught in the building without paying for entry or use.
03/30/04 Tuesday A subject stole the tip cup containing a days worth of tips from a vendor in the University Pavilion. The suspect fled from Public Safety officers who were in the building. He was apprehended. It was determined that he was out on bond awaiting sentencing on an unrelated larceny case. The judge that had set the bond was contacted and the bond was revoked. The suspect was lodged at the county jail. DPS obtained its own charges on the suspect which will be taken into consideration at his pending sentence hearing.
03/30/04 Tuesday A vehicle was damaged in a hit and run accident while it was parked in Lot Q near the White Building.
03/31/04 Wednesday A department received a message on their telephone message system consisting of gun shots. One of the employees felt it was a person angry over an editorial he wrote in the newspaper about guns.
