We the Students come together to promote the better welfare of Students, ensure the effective advocacy and representation of Students and Student rights, enhance the academic and Student life of the campus, develop leaders who will challenge the present and enrich the future, and uphold the University of Michigan’s traditions of excellence, innovation, and leadership for ourselves, our future fellow Students, and our University, and in common association do hereby establish this Constitution for the University of Michigan
