I joined because I felt like this would be a great way for me to get involved on campus in a way that relates to my major, while at the same time providing representation to my fellow students.
I joined the Student Government at UM-Flint because I wanted to bring change for the students. Students can have frustrations that they are never able to bring to light. I wanted to change that. Instead of just complaining about how I feel, I wish to work towards improvement.
I joined Student Government at UM-Flint as a transfer student to be able to meet new people as well as be able to make an impact on campus. I thought that by joining Student Government I would be given the materials to not only get to know students but to help them succeed as a UM-Flint student!
I believe gaining leadership skills and becoming a well-rounded student will help me succeed in the real world regardless of what career I choose. Student Government will not only teach me proper etiquette but also I feel like I can learn interpersonal, business, and communications skills. Having a voice and being a voice for students is something I think will help me come out of my shell and make changes that benefit me and other students on this campus.
I joined Student Government, so I could help a larger community to thrive and help them build strong relations. I want to make students known to how student government operates and build a trust that we can help them combat their problems related to campus. I have addressed concerns as a part of a smaller group and believe that if I work with a team of like-minded people who are motivated to achieve the same goals, we can make our campus and community a better place.
