University of Michigan-Flint

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The focus of the MBA program is on learning and applying the principles of problem solving that lead to effective decision making. Emphasis is also placed on developing the skills and techniques required to implement the decisions.

Students develop a solid foundation for making sound business decisions through grounding in general management principles. The program offers balanced coverage of the management principles and analyses of real-life management cases. Students also can choose to develop more in-depth competency in specialized areas of business by pursing the MBA with a concentration.

The MBA program design emphasizes team-based project work and enables students to develop a stronger support network for personal and professional development beyond the time that they are enrolled.

The School of Management offers two delivery modes for students to complete the MBA program:

Traditional MBA Program (20-32 months)
The Traditional MBA program is geared toward working professionals by offering all classes in the evening on the Flint campus. Small class sizes greatly enhance peer interactions and faculty consultations. The group experience encourages the development of a lifelong professional network.

NetPlus! MBA Program (15-24 months)
The NetPlus! MBA program is an innovative Internet-based version of the MBA program. It is designed to make the UM-Flint MBA program conveniently accessible to busy professionals from a wide geographic area. This program blends the personal interaction of traditional classroom activities with the anytime, anywhere convenience of modern online learning. Weekend campus sessions (Fri-Sat) are held every six weeks and enhance the quality of the learning experience.
