Post the job(s) in of UM-Flint’s Career Connection. (Contact the Academic Advising and Career Center for assistance at (810) 762-3085.)
Gain cost-effective personnel - Student interns are usually paid a salary, but do not require expensive benefits, such as health insurance.
Receive and review resumes from eligible students.
Select and contact directly those students whom you would like to interview.
Interview and select your intern(s).
Orient your new intern(s) to your organization and the internship ground rules.


For assistance with any of the steps listed above or to set up on-campus recruitment or interviews, please contact the Student Services Coordinator.

Employer responsibilities once the intern has been hired:
Provide a dedicated supervisor.
Provide a safe work environment, free from discrimination and harassment.
Be a positive role model.
Offer a valuable learning experience.
Provide a performance evaluation at the end of the internship.
