Michigan Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (MCEL)

The Michigan Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (MCEL), a program of the School of Management at the University of Michigan-Flint, enhances the experiential learning opportunities for students throughout campus while promoting the growth and success of businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Ongoing partnerships with the Innovation Incubator, the Michigan Family Business Center, VetBizCentral, as well as working relationships with many other community, regional, and national organizations facilitate the leadership training of participants while providing guidance relevant to accounting, computer information systems, engineering design, entrepreneurship, finance, graphic design, human resource management, innovation, marketing, operations management, organizational behavior, and strategic planning and implementation. Activities stemming from these partnerships include seminar development and delivery of workshops, as well as the development and execution of customized analysis and presentations of strategic recommendations to organizations that seek assistance.

Community One, a specific program operated by MCEL is dedicated to providing organizations with student assistance focused in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, communications, marketing and strategic analysis. This assistance is manifested through student internships as well as through the integration of university course work with the needs of participating organizations.

MCEL is located in Suite 2200 of the Riverfront Center Building on the UM-Flint campus.
