Founded in 1946, Tom Ryan Distributing has served the Flint area as a wholesale beer distributor for more than 60 years. Tom Ryan Distributing is a quintessential example of a flourishing family business, with power successfully passing to three outstanding leaders. The family has always maintained a high level of customer satisfaction as they grew into the largest beer distributor in both Genesee and Lapeer Counties. The Ryan family is also the leader in promoting responsible drinking and preventing underage drinking. Working with local businesses, parents and educators, they have implemented six programs focusing on multiple issues from designated drivers, ID verification, server education, and cab service to reaching out to youth, high school students and college students. Many UM-Flint business students also benefit from a generous scholarship in name of Tom P. Ryan and his son Tom P. Ryan, Jr. each year. The Ryan's commitment to their community has made their family and their business a local trademark.
