This year’s University of Michigan-Flint United Way Charitable Giving Campaign runs from October 16 to December 31. As campaign co-chairs, we invite you to join in helping us improve lives in Genesee County.
Did you know 21 percent of Genesee County residents live below the poverty line?
This isn’t just a number; it could be your neighbor, friend, or colleague. For thousands in our community, these last few years have been very difficult. Thanks to support from people like you, United Way is able to help them. Over 35,000 residents in Genesee County received support by United Way funding. This is possible because United Way uses each dollar contributed to leverage state, federal, and private funds.
How can you make a difference in the lives of your neighbors? Simply by giving what you can.
You can give your gift to make a difference via Wolverine Access, which links to a secure ePledge system. Sign into Wolverine Access and click on the link found in the announcement section of the "faculty and staff" tab. Even though the link references "Washtenaw County," your UM-Flint login credentials will direct deductions to the United Way of Genesee County.
Paper pledge forms have been delivered to your department via campus mail (they can also be obtained at the offices of the campaign co-chairs.)
All employees who donate $1,000 or more become members of the United Way Leadership Giving Society and are invited to attend a Leadership Givers Reception, hosted by President Mary Sue Coleman.
You can choose how to invest in your community, either by giving to a United Way Community Impact Fund, or you may designate your gift to a non-profit organization you support. Your generous donation will help United Way assist many in our community who need help. We hope you can join us for this important work.
In the weeks ahead, campaign goal updates will be appear on this page.
