Process and Timeline updated 1-25-2017

January 10: First Steering Committee meeting occurs; discuss and finalize process and timeline and schedule standing meetings. Committee to meet every other week for 2 hours.

Week of January 23: Second meeting to fine tune, plan steps/initiatives for implementation of data collection and campus-wide communication.

February-mid March: Open forums and campus meetings scheduled. Survey(s) developed and distributed.

Mid-March to mid-April: Steering committee synthesizes discussions and creates high-level priorities to guide the next 5 years.

Mid-April: Goals shared with campus community for feedback: email to campus, open forum for discussion, and meetings with Cabinet, Council of Deans, Faculty Council, Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Budget and Strategic Planning, Academic Affairs Advisory Committee, Staff Council, Student Government Association. Goals revised as needed based on feedback.

Mid-May: Governing faculty meeting and discussion, followed by a formal vote on the proposed priorities. Proposed goals distributed to the faculty one week in advance of scheduled vote.

September 2017: Project teams formed; charged with deeper dive into the priorities and developing action plans (rolling multi-year action plans with annual review and metrics).

October-December 2017: Project teams conduct background research, gather best practices, make field trips, conduct surveys, hold forums and discussions.

January-February 2018: Project teams develop and share plans; more discussion with campus.

March 2018: Strategic plan is finalized, announced and launched.
