The Beta Lambda Chapter of Theta Phi Alpha was reinstated at the University of Michigan-Flint on May 2, 2009.  We currently have 28 collegiate members and 17 alumnae.

The members of the Beta Lambda Chapter are very active on campus outside the organization.  We have women involved in multiple major student organizations on campus including Student Government, Campus Activities Board, and Greek Council as well as other student clubs and organizations.  We are a very dedicated group of women who take pride in the amount of community service and philanthropy projects in which we participate.  For example, at the 2011 Relay for Life, we raised over $3,000, the most out of any team participating! We also raised money and remodeled a room at Carriage Town Ministries, a local women’s shelter. At a national level, we’ve donated multiple toiletry items to Camp Friendship (a free summer camp for underprivileged children in the south), Theta Phi Alpha’s national philanthropy. In addition, through holding a sisterhood auction, we were able to donate over $2,000 to the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation.

Academically, Theta Phi Alpha has excelled. We have earned the highest average GPA out of all Greek organizations for the past three semesters. After the Winter 2011 semester, 18 sisters had a cumulative GPA over 3.0 and 12 had over a 3.5. We have also had many sisters receive academic awards from the University, including Angell Scholar, Maize and Blue, and various President’s Ball awards. Finally, Theta Phi Alpha is home to the woman with the highest GPA out of all three sororities!

Although we are very active on and off campus, we still know how to have fun!  We’ve held social events with organizations including Kappa Sigma, Theta Chi, and the Campus Activities Board as well as countless sisterhood events. When you're a sister of Theta Phi Alpha, the love, laughter, and friendships last a lifetime!
