University of Michigan - Flint

In 2006 the University of Michigan-Flint family commemorated our 50th Anniversary, by imagining and planning the university’s next 50 years. Key to this exciting vision of the future is the launch of UM-Flint’s new campaign, IMAGINE: The University of Michigan-Flint Difference.

This ambitious effort is part of a larger plan to move the University of Michigan-Flint into position to effect even greater change in five core areas:

•    Ensuring that we place the interests, needs and achievement of STUDENTS FIRST

•    Inspiring the cultural, professional, artistic and scientific passions of our students and faculty drives our COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS

•    Creating an attractive, safe, warm, and stimulating RIVERFRONT HOME

•    Encouraging active citizenship, community engagement, and the application of knowledge and resources to the common good of our community; being GOOD NEIGHBORS

•    Forming leaders, transforming lives – cultivating leadership in all areas keeps UM-Flint on the LEADING EDGE

As a result of this campaign:

- more of our qualified students will receive the scholarships they deserve.

-new and upgraded facilities will enhance the beauty, function and appeal of the University of Michigan–Flint campus.

- new partnerships and programs will bring community and university resources together to better identify and address local needs.

- a new generation of leaders will enter society with the skills and character to motivate and make lasting differences in every endeavor.

- the advantages of close student/professor bonds will be advanced through more endowed professorships, new technology and increased numbers of service learning and collaborative research projects.

We ask you to help us meet the challenges of this new and important vision. Together, we can promise to our students, community, faculty, staff, alumni, and future generations that the University of Michigan-Flint’s next 50 years will be limited only by our imagination.
