New faculty orientation - August 21 (All faculty)
The Thompson Center for Learning and Teaching will host an orientation session for all new faculty on Thursday, August 21, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We look forward to welcoming new faculty and sharing information about the array of support available to assist them in their teaching. We will also provide an overview of the dynamics of the UM-Flint student body, introduce the Faculty Council, and highlight our campus safety initiatives. A resource fair showcasing a variety of campus departments will be available and will allow new faculty to obtain a parking permit and university identification card (M-card).
Faculty are also invited to participate in a bus tour of the city of Flint, hosted by the Office of University Outreach. This will be held following the orientation session on August 21, from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. This tour will provide insight into the strengths and challenges of the city, as well as illuminate the numerous possibilities for engagement by faculty, staff and students. Attend the tour and receive a special gift!
