Elizabeth Bodnar - Social Work
Choosing UM-Flint was easy. To me it wasn’t about a campus that was close to home or the affordable tuition. It was about the reputation that the Social Work program had. Community members had suggested UM-Flint because of the quality and integrity the program has. I didn’t apply to any other school besides UM-Flint and I didn’t need to. The social work department faculty and staff is a constant reminder of why I chose this university and how happy I am that I did.
As a student leader of the campus’ social work club, it has been a privilege to be an example of what UM-Flint has to offer. Last October 2007 our organization partnered with the women’s center and held a community wide domestic violence seminar and the response was overwhelming from the university and surrounding community. I have never been more proud to be a part of the social work program or this university than I was that day.
