Hilary Parmentier - English Language and Literature (MA)
The University of Michigan-Flint has been one of the best choices for my education and career. As an undergraduate, I was able to achieve my dream of becoming a teacher. The centralized location, flexible schedules, and small class sizes made it an ideal choice for me. Not only were the classes useful and challenging, but the professors really cared about the success of each student.
I was so pleased with my undergraduate education that I decided to go back for a Masters degree in education/literacy. I was able to take classes and work full time in the classroom to put the skills learned into practice. The real world applications mixed with the theoretical ideas really helped me grow as a teacher. I am currently working to complete a second Masters degree in English, which will further improve my skills as a teacher in both the secondary field and beyond.
