Growing up in Flint, I had no idea what UM-Flint was all about. I ultimately decided to come here because of the University of Michigan name, but the experiences I've had here are worth so much more than just a name. UM-Flint has given me the opportunity to work alongside faculty who are simply the best at what they do.
The experiences I have had here are great foundations for my career in education. My instructors are veterans from local schools and can share more helpful information than any textbook can provide. They are very approachable and willing to work with students. The invaluable research that I have done off-campus has gotten me right into the classroom and working with teachers who are in the field now.
When I start my teaching career someday, I know that I will be ready because of everything that UM-Flint has given me. A degree from the University of Michigan-Flint is more than just a piece of paper that will hang on the wall; it's a doorway to my future.
