I am an adult student seeking a graduate degree in teaching. I spent most of my adult life teaching preschool and found myself in need of more knowledge. Because of my desire to grow cognitively and experientially, I eagerly returned to school. I have learned much since beginning the program. The accelerated program fits my needs perfectly. Although it has been intensive, it has also been stimulating.

As a student, I gleaned more than just text information. The experience of working with high-risk students offered an opportunity to grow as a person. I gained practical wisdom by teaching in the urban classroom and I have renewed respect for teachers who do their job faithfully every day, making the sacrifice for our future generation. I could not have learned all that I have without this opportunity. The resources available through the University of Michigan-Flint are exceptional for future teachers. The support of faculty and staff help to define the success of many graduates, this one included.
