A cohesive, thought-out strategic marketing plan is critical to the success of any advertising or communications effort. The Office of Univeristy Relations is here to assist you in the creation of a plan that makes the most efficient and effective use of your budget to reach your short- and long-term goals.
Graphic Design
UREL has one graphic artist on staff to work on major print marketing projects for university departments. If it is determined that your project will be designed by UREL, there is a two-week time period for the project to be designed before the first draft is given to the requestor. Once the draft is returned to UREL, there will be a one week period to redesign and make any needed changes. This timeframe could be extended at the discretion of UREL depending on the extent of the redesign. ALL FINAL PROOFING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE REQUESTOR, NOT UREL.
The graphic materials designed by UREL include:
- Billboards
- Brochures
- Direct mail pieces
- Web graphics
With projects involving printing and other outside sources (committee review, edits etc.) for completion of the requested projects, please allow a total of 5 weeks for completion of the entire project. This timing includes: UREL two weeks for first draft, edits, printing, and delivery of piece. Please note that time period could be extended depending on when edits are returned to UREL.
All requests for such items as stationery, posters, fliers, table tents, programs, agendas, invitations, and most postcards should be referred to Printing Services or other outside printing/design vendors.
A university department may choose to work with a graphic designer outside of the university; however, UREL reserves the right to meet with the graphic designer to ensure they understand the brand parameters established by the university.

We can advise you of the best ways to tell your story in the media, and to promote the work of your unit.
