Resources
As a supplement to these guidelines, there are a number of campus resources to take advantage of as you build your social media strategy. If you are unsure about the information you are posting, or unsure about what medium would be best for your message, please contact University Relations.
UM-Flint Social Marketers Group
The UM-Flint Social Marketers Group is comprised of representatives from across campus, including faculty, staff, and students. The group meets quarterly to brainstorm and share resources. To aid in collaboration, the UM-Flint Social Marketers Facebook Group facilitates ongoing conversation. This is an open group, and anyone with an interest in social media is welcome to join. If you would like more information about the UM-Flint Social Marketers Group, contact Alaina Wiens in UR.
UM-Flint Social
The UM-Flint Social page on the university website includes streaming updates from UM-Flint’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, and Foursquare accounts all in one place. You’ll also find links to help you connect to various university departments across the social networks.
Departments, programs, or organizations are eligible for inclusion in the directories on UM-Flint Social. To be included in a list, an account must adhere to UM-Flint brand guidelines. University Relations reserves final decision regarding inclusion. To submit your account for the UM-Flint social page or for more information, contact UR.
University Relations Blog
The UM-Flint University Relations blog offers social media reports, information about new and emerging trends, tips, and resources.
