Social Media
“Meeting people where they are” is one of marketing’s most enduring credos.

Social media is not a fad, a trend, or “virtual.” It is actual. University Relations embraces this reality and its power to connect the world with the people and ideas that are the core of the UM-Flint story.
Official University of Michigan-Flint social media accounts can be found on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, and Flickr. If you have been authorized to create a social media account on behalf of your UM-Flint department or program, UR can help you create a social media plan that will:
- provide fast, effective, inexpensive ways promote your department or initiative
- foster stronger, more meaningful connections with audiences you wish to communicate
- add depth, detail, and dynamism to your relationships with key audiences
- make it quicker and easier to solicit feedback and respond appropriately
Social Media Guidelines
Every social media account associated with UM-Flint is a reflection of the university, and helps shape the brand for our audience. Please review UR's Social Media Guidelines before initiating a social media plan for your department or program.
