My images are in the right folder, but they're still not showing up. What am I doing wrong?
If your images are not showing up on the live site, but they are showing up in the preview, then you may have forgotten to submit the images. Submit the images folder (or your whole site) and wait an hour to make sure the script has run to update the live site. If your images still do not show up on the site, please make sure you haven't made any of the common errors below.
Double check how your image files are named. Any images with an extension in all capitals will not show up on the website. For example, mypic.JPG will not show up on the website. The CMS does not recognize the all caps file extensions. Follow the steps to rename a file. You may need to rename the file to an intermediate file name because the CMS will tell you that the file already has that name if you try to just change the extension to lowercase letters. See the Working with Images tutorial for an example.
You also should check to see if your files are named with correct “punctuation”. A file that contains two periods in the file name, such as mypic.1.jpg, will not display correctly. Follow the steps to rename a file to correct this problem.
If you imported the image from the Media Bin it may not be a “real” image file. Files that are renamed from incompatible file extensions such as: .eps, .tif, or .psd, will never be able to be used in the CMS. For directions on how to correctly convert these file types to JPGs that can be used in the CMS, please refer to the “Working with Images” section.
When I try to import files I receive an error about Java, and that I should contact my system administrator. What's wrong with my computer?
I'm trying to edit a page, but the window to edit the form won't pop-up!
The window that allows CMS users to edit a form is a "popup" window. If you have a popup blocker installed, the window may not open. Before beginning your work in the CMS you should disable your popup blocker, or add the CMS to the list of trusted sites.
A common popup blocker is the "Google Toolbar". If you have this toolbar installed you may see an area similar to the one below in Internet Explorer:

To work in the CMS with this toolbar you will need to enable popups. To enable popups on this toolbar click on the button outlined in red in the image above. The number of popups blocked should change to "Popups Okay".

Why do I get an error when I click on a link that I've created?
With any link to a page outside your TeamSite you must include the "http://" before the web address. Any outside link created without "http://" before the address will generate an error (see image below), or "Page cannot be found" error when it is followed from the website. An "outside" link includes any webpages that do not reside in your TeamSite area. For example, "www.google.com" in the URL box will generate an error when the link is followed. If you have included "http://" and the link still does not work, please check to verify that you haven't made a typo in the address. For more information on including links on your TeamSite please visit the "Creating Hyperlinks" instructional guide.

What is all this information about meta data? It's not letting me submit my files!
When I login, I get an error message that "there is no such user".
In December 2007, Teamsite was upgraded and the login page changed. Please make sure that you are logging in with your uniqname, LAN password, and choosing "FLINT-NT" from the Domain dropdown menu. For screenshot instructions, please consult http://www.umflint.edu/webguide/instructional/loggingin.htm.
My links/pictures aren't working, but I know they're all correct!
Since the December update to the CMS a problem has ocurred sporadically with the Text component. When an exisiting "Text" block is edited, the pathway to the images and internal links in that Text block may become "disconnected". This problem means that links to pictures and other pages in your TeamSite may look correct, but still won't work on generated pages. When you mouse over an internal link in the CMS preview, it should appear in this model: http://cms/webguide/instructional/hyperlinks.htm. A broken link will appear in this model: http:///webguide/instructional/hyperlinks.htm.
To fix the problem, re-edit (open and click "OK") for every internal link or image in the affected text block only. Your images/links should work once you complete re-editing.
Images also do not currently display in the Text Editor window when using the Internet Explorer browser. Once you preview your page the image will display correctly and the images will be available on any pages you generate/publish (after completing the re-editing steps as described above).
If this error occurs in your workarea, you can prevent it from happening by using the Firefox browser whenever you need to edit an existing Text block which contains links to internal .htm or .pdf files or if it contains images.
The left navigation won't stay open when I click on a subpage!
I'm trying to edit a page in the TeamSite but the editing options are grayed out and I can't create a new file either.
If you find that a lot of the menu options are grayed out, and you are unable to create new pages or edit old ones - you may be trying to work in the "Staging" area of your TeamSite. Check the address bar near the top of your screen (see image below for an example of what it will look like). If you see "STAGING" anywhere in the CMS address bar then you are in the staging area. Press the up arrow (outlined in green in the image below) until you see the option to select "Workareas" appear in the main window. Click on "Workareas", "content", and finally the folder with your department name on it. Try editing again and any options that were previously grayed out should now be available.

Why do I get an "Invalid Form ID" error when I try to include a Web Form block?
When you include a FormAssembly form in the CMS you must make sure that there aren't any spaces around the form address. For example, in the Form URL box you cannot have:

If you receive an "Invalid Form ID" error on your CMS created page, make sure you double check that a space didn't sneak into the Form URL!
