Interpreting the CMS Icons

There are several icons that you may encounter while working with the CMS.  Listed below are a few of the more common icons that you may see.

  1.   This icon represents a folder.  A folder can contain other folders and files.
  2.   This icon represents a file.
  3.   This icon represents a file that has been modified in the work area since the last submit.  Any changes or updates to the file have not yet been submitted to staging.
  4.   This icon represents a file locked by you.  Other users may not be able to submit or unlock these files.
  5.   This icon represents a file that is locked by you, and has been modified since the last submit.  Other users may not be able to submit or unlock these files.
  6.   This icon represents a file that is locked by another user.  You may or may not be able to unlock or submit this file, depending on your permissions.
  7.   This icon represents a file that is locked by another user and has been modified since the last submit.  You may or may not be able to unlock or submit this file, depending on your permissions.
  8.   This icon represents a private file that will not be submitted to staging.  Folders can also be marked private and will have the same symbol over the typical folder icon.
  9.   This icon represents files that have been deleted in both the work area and staging after being submitted at least once to staging.
  10.   This icon represents files that have been deleted in the work area, but have not yet been removed from staging.
  11.   This icon represents files that were deleted without ever being submitted to staging.  A file that was deleted and not submitted at least once to staging is unrecoverable.  If a file has not yet been submitted to staging, be absolutely certain you will not need it before deleting.
