Friday, September 21Did you know Flint enjoys more public green space than most cities in the country? To celebrate our wealth of parks, local people are creating mini-parks in downtown parking spaces during Park(ing) Day, a national event designed to promote the value of our cities’ parks.
Park(ing) Day is designed to promote the value of our cities’ parks. In parking spaces throughout the United States, participants feed a meter and construct their vision for a temporary urban oasis. Plants and other materials used in the transformation are then donated to an urban housing center.
