Thursday, September 13Each fall, the Office of Student Life hosts the Welcome Back Picnic, where you'll find a full day of food, games, give-aways, and more! This year's picnic promises to be the largest and most exciting yet.
Throughout the day, event photos and announcements will be posted to Facebook and Twitter, but we want you to help us tell the story! Share your own Welcome Back Picnic photos or updates on our Facebook Wall or tweet using the #umflint hashtag.
NOTE: Students will be required to present a UMID card at the picnic to access food, t-shirts, and attractions. For more information, contact the Office of Student Life at (810) 762-3431.
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join a foot race around the UM-Flint campus to compete for the ultimate prize - cake! Race check-in will be located at the corner of Kearsley and Wallenberg Streets. You can register for the Cake Race online.
Kearsley Street between the Murchie Science Building and the First Street Residence Hall will be closed to make room for the 2012 Welcome Back Picnic! The carnival-style picnic will spread across the Residence Hall lawn, Willson Park, and Kearsley Street.
Check in with your UMID to get your All-Access Wristband. The All-Access Wristband gets you a 2012-2013 Welcome t-shirt, free food, and access to all attractions.
While the Welcome Back Picnic is held exclusively for students, faculty and staff can get involved by volunteering. Donate a cake for the cake race, help set up for the event, or volunteer to serve food to gain access to all the fun (including your Welcome t-shirt!). To volunteer, complete and submit the Welcome Back Picnic Volunteer Form.
