In this course the tutor will help you acquire strategies for writing in English and learn the expectations of American readers because the expectations for writing are often very different from one culture to another. Writing for the American university is often based on textbooks or other readings and one component of writing is noticing the details of those readings. Another component of this course is language acquisition. Because language acquisition is important to understanding the texts you are reading and writing, you and the tutor will use strategies to help you acquire more English.
