What should I bring to a session?

Bring the assignment sheet for your paper, a typed hard copy of what you have drafted, any notes for your topic, and/or ideas you want to develop. Also, it can be helpful to mention to the tutor any particular questions or concerns you may have.

What will happen in a tutoring session?

For the assignment at hand, you will collaborate with a tutor on ideas, organization, style, and anything you feel you need, or want, to work on regarding your writing process. During the session, you will get to discuss your ideas and goals for the paper and work with a tutor to develop strategies for achieving your goals.  If you have a draft of your essay, the tutor will read it aloud so you can hear what your writing sounds like from a reader's perspective.
