China Study Trip 2010: Enhancing Your International Experiences and Diversity
This course provides an opportunity for students to learn the dynamics of China, and her culture and economic system. China is not only a major player of Asian economic and political court but also the entire globe. The students will experience firsthand culture, society, economic system and business environment in China. Especially, this trip provides you the opportunity to visit World Expo 2010 Shanghai. The trip is timely appropriate as we observe the dynamics of globalization and international diversity. As ancient Chinese proverb says that a man is not a great man until he goes up the Great Wall. Metaphorically, this will be true for the students who take part in the study program. BUS181 Fundamentals of Information Systems:
| This course provides an introduction to basic IS concepts. It focuses on how information technology can be used, designed and managed to support effective decision making. Topics discussed include basic hardware and software concepts, telecommunications, business process, information systems development, application tools, the use of the Internet, and programming. The course also covers social issues around the use of IT. Taking a hands-on approach, the course uses examples and assignments to bring students to a level of proficiency in the material. Assignments are drawn from applications in a wide range of business contexts. 3 credit hours. BUS381 Management Information Systems:
| Introduction to use of computers and computer-based information systems in operation, management, and decision making functions. Management information systems, model-based decision support systems, fundamentals of computer hardware and software, data structure and databases, systems analysis and design, data communication systems. Pre-requisites: BUS181 or CSC151&152.
MGT581 Management Information Systems
| In this semester, this course focuses on the new breed of e-commerce services. This course present material that explores the business, technological, and social aspects of e-commerce, and help you understand the relationships among e-commerce business concerns, Internet technology, and the social and legal context of e-commerce.
