INNOVATION HAPPENS HERE
A University of Michigan-Flint physics professor will take the helm of the new College of Innovation and Technology that is being established on the Flint campus. Christopher A. Pearson was approved as the inaugural dean of the college at the Oct. 22 Board of Regents meeting. Pearson begins his duties Nov. 1.
University of Michigan-Flint will launch a new institute focused on social justice in the Flint area that is the result of ongoing discussions in the community over the past decade. The Urban Institute for Racial, Economic, and Environmental Justice will seek to provide practical solutions and to support local efforts addressing public problems.
The University of Michigan-Flint has launched a pilot program this semester to offer telehealth services to students living on campus. The telehealth services, available through U-M University Health Service (UHS), include episodic care, nurse advice, medication renewals, nutrition counseling, minor illness/injury care, and sexual health.
