For the past nine years, UM-Flint alumni have gathered in mid-August for Go Blue on the Bricks. Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent this event from taking place in 2020.  We are not, however, going to let the current situation completely stop the decade long tradition.  Instead, we are hosting several virtual activities over the next week and would love to have you participate. All of our activities will be conducted using the private UM-Flint Alumni Facebook Group. If you are not a member, be sure to join!
Calendar of Virtual Go Blue on the Bricks Activities
Thursday (8/13): Throwback Thursday "College Car Edition" – Do you remember the car you drove to college?  Was it your pride and joy?  Was it a clunker, "hand me down?"  We don't care how you got it; we just want to see a picture of it.  Join us on Thursday as we all share our "college cars" and stories about the cars of our past.

Friday-Saturday (8/14-15): Bricks Pics – Alumni Relations has hundreds of photographs from Go Blue on the Bricks over the years. We will be posting photos, tagging alumni, and encouraging others to post photos. Check your phone for pics from over the years and be ready to post them.

Tuesday (8/18):  The Virtual Race – Many of you have asked about when we might bring some of the games and prizes back to our Go Blue on the Bricks event.
Well, you are going to see it this year!  Throughout the week, we want alumni to enter our “Virtual Race” for a chance to win a prize package provided by the U of M Credit Union and Alumni Relations. The package includes a University of Michigan Quarter-Zip shirt, a $25 Visa Gift Card, a $100 Gift Certificate to a restaurant of your choice, and several other items.

To enter the race, complete our entry form, and select the "hot wheels" car you believe will win the race. Then, on Tuesday, August 18, at 7:00 p.m., tune in to our Facebook page and watch the video of the race.  The winner's name will be drawn from a "hat" that contains all the names of individuals who selected the winning car.

All of us at UM-Flint look forward to the day when we can see each other face-to-face. While this year won't be the same, we hope these virtual Go Blue on the Bricks activities will bring a little joy to everyone and keep our annual tradition alive.
Stay safe, and Go Blue!
