Psychological Services<\/a><\/li><li class=\"breadcrumb-item active\" aria-current=\"page\">Counseling &amp; Psychological Services<\/li><\/ol><\/nav>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Counseling and Psychological Services provides FREE mental health services to enrolled University of Michigan-Flint students to help them maximize their academic and personal potential. In meetings with CAPS Counselors, students are encouraged to talk about their mental health concerns, relationship issues, family conflict, stress management, adjustment issues, and more in a safe and confidential space. CAPS provides the following services:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-row row\">\n\t\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual, Couples, and Group Counseling*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support Groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental health-focused workshops and presentations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Referrals to campus and community resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/caps\/crisis-services\/\">Access to mental health crisis support 24\/7<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to Wellness Room resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-container container mb-2\">\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>*Due to professional licensing restrictions, CAPS Counselors cannot provide direct individual, couples, or group counseling services to students who are located outside the state of Michigan at the time of their counseling appointment. However, all students, regardless of location, are eligible for CAPS support groups, workshops, presentations, campus and community resources and referrals, and 24\/7 mental health crisis support. If you are located outside of the state of Michigan and would like to begin counseling, you are welcome to contact the CAPS office to schedule a time to meet with a CAPS Counselor to discuss possible resources in your community.<br><br>Please contact the CAPS Office at <a href=\"tel:810-762-3456\">810-762-3456<\/a> to inquire about the current support group and group counseling offerings.<br><br>CAPS strictly protects your confidentiality within the limits allowed by law. We do not report your attendance or any personal information to any unit in or outside the university without your written permission. There are limits to confidentiality required by the law.
