These appointments can be conducted in person or remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure appropriate and effective support for students in crisis, students requesting a same-day crisis appointment&nbsp;<strong>after 4 p.m<\/strong>. will be referred to our CAPS After Hours service unless the student discloses an active threat of harm to self or others. In this situation, a CAPS clinician will be notified immediately to provide the student with appropriate support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visit our office (264 UCEN) or call 810-762-3456 to request same-day crisis services.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">After Business Hours:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CAPS After Hours provides mental health crisis support to any currently enrolled UM-Flint student or anyone concerned about a UM-Flint student.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">CAPS After Hours is provided to students in conjunction with evenings, weekends, and holidays by calling 810-762-3456 and pressing \u201c0\u201d when prompted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-12d04dd34d8cb4772d549c42a49c55b9\">Examples of situations that might constitute a mental health crisis:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student has taken recent steps to end their life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has serious thoughts of killing themselves.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has a current plan to attempt suicide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has thoughts of seriously harming or killing someone else.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student is seriously concerned about another student who may be at risk of suicide and\/or harming others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has recently been physically or sexually assaulted.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has had a relative, close friend or animal companion receive a serious diagnosis or has recently died.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has not slept in two or more days.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student is having strange experiences such as hearing voices or seeing things other people do not.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student is experiencing such emotional distress that they have not been able to meet daily responsibilities (for example, not attending class or work).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has had a severe reaction to a psychiatric medication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student has witnessed a traumatic event within the last few days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color
