About the Fund
The Dr. Ben F. Bryer Medical Research Instrumentation Fund is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences and was created to make full use of the support already provided through the Ben F. Bryer Foundation Medical Research Fund. The Instrumentation Fund augments the Research Fund by providing an avenue for faculty within the College of Arts and Sciences to request funding for equipment related to medical research. Equipment that would supplement research occurring under the Research Fund would be of paramount priority, but not a requirement.
All instructional faculty within the College may apply and applications will be evaluated by a selection committee. Key evaluation criteria are scholarly merit, research related to medical and biomedical research, and especially cancer research.
All awards are subject to the availability of funds, and junior tenure-track faculty will be given priority. Requests must be at minimum $1,000 to be considered. Partial-funding awards may be offered.
Contact CAS Associate Dean Chris Pearson with questions.
Applicants must submit a cover page, a proposal narrative, and an abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Biosketch for the principal investigator and any faculty co-investigators. Consult the Office of Research website for a biosketch example.
Deadline for Bryer Instrumentation Fund applications is March 7, 2018.
