Honoring Alex Dennis

Alex Dennis

Alex was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. A graduate of Lapeer High School, he was known for his sharp intellect, quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any room. His natural curiosity and drive carried him through all his pursuits, both in and out of the classroom.

A student at the University of Michigan-Flint, Alex was majoring in Digital Machining & Auto Technology, combining his love for technology with his talent for innovation. He was an integral part of the UM-Flint Esports program, competing on the Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege teams. His dedication extended beyond the competition—he volunteered for broadcasts, supported MIHSEF, and was always eager to lend a hand at any esports-related event. His teammates and friends in the program knew they could always count on him for support, conversation, and a shared excitement for gaming.

Alex’s interests were vast and varied. He had a fascination with technology, from building his own PC to following the latest in esports, especially as a fan of Space Station Gaming. He loved gaming, mastering titles like Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, Rocket League, and League of Legends. In his free time, he enjoyed practicing his butterfly knife tricks, immersing himself in anime, and perfecting his skills in racing simulators. His enthusiasm for these passions was contagious, and he loved sharing them with those around him.

Throughout his life, Alex was actively involved in baseball as an amazing catcher. He loved archery, bowling, golf and was a certified scuba diver. He cherished his summers up north on the lake partaking in boating, jet skiing, fishing, camping and trail riding.

Above all, Alex was someone who cared deeply for others. Whether through a late-night gaming session, a deep conversation, or a simple gesture of kindness, he made those around him feel valued and heard. His presence brought comfort, his humor brought joy, and his friendship left an indelible mark on countless lives.

Alex is survived by his loving parents, Dean and Kathryn, his brother Nicholas, his sister Hannah, and many family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Though Alex’s journey was cut short, his memory will live on in the lives of all who knew him. We celebrate the love, laughter, and passion he shared with the world and find solace in knowing his legacy will never fade.

Rest in peace, Alex. You will always be missed and never forgotten.
