preschool program through the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential. The Great Start Readiness Program falls under the \u201cPreK for All\u201d umbrella to provide high-quality education to all four-year-olds across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\">About the Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Child must be four years of age by Sept. 1, 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The first day is Monday, September 28, 2026, and the last day is May 26, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The program runs 34 weeks from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday\u2013Thursday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Includes full meals (breakfast, lunch and p.m. snack).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before\/After care and Friday care are available at tuition rates (signed contract needed).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Field trips are included at no cost.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two home visits will occur, the first in September prior to the start of the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two conferences will take place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Throughout the year, potential applicants will be directed to fill out an In-Take Application for eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority will be given according to the eligibility and prioritization flow chart, with children with low family incomes served first (400% below FPL), followed by families with risk factors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting in the Spring, income-eligible families will be contacted to provide proof of income and the child\u2019s birth certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who provide documents in a timely manner will secure a spot. Once all the spots are full, regardless of eligibility, the family would be put on a wait list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment before the start of the program can occur, provided tuition is paid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All enrollment paperwork must be completed before orientation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A mandatory orientation will occur before the program starts, in September.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Paperwork<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A copy of your child\u2019s Birth Certificate or proof of his\/her age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of your child\u2019s current Health Appraisal and up-to-date Immunization Records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of annual family income, preferably a tax statement from the previous year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of any and all risk factors your child has.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>These materials were developed under a grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Great Start Readiness Program is a state-funded FREE preschool program through the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential.
