Engagement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty members have the option to identify their classes as having the \u201cCommunity Engagement\u201d component in the UM-Flint course schedules. The Community Engagement Indicator:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrates how UM-Flint academically prepares students with real-world experience for their professional careers and lives as engaged citizens using evidence-based, high-impact practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helps students search SIS for course sections that provide significant learning experiences in and with the community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enables departmental and institution-wide tracking and reporting about community-engaged classes, including helping departments with annual reporting and promoting successes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-ba3fbbd462ef95cadb05e20a1123df82\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on existing practices at UM-Flint, course sections are eligible for the Community Engagement Indicator if they have at least one of the three following components in the course syllabus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The course section contains an assignment that requires all students to work on a project for a real-world client or community partner (i.e. service-learning).
